I've had three pairs of the Openrun minis over the last ten years and used them mainly for running and cycling. I just switched to the Openfits which are over the ear earbuds so they don't have the band in the back. They are so comfortable I can have them in for hours and don't feel them at all.
r/XXRunning • Shockz OpenFit earbuds? ->I have the Shocks with the band and AirPods Pro. I use both. I prefer the AirPods with noise cancellation if I’m running at the gym, and I use the shockz for outdoor runs for safety. I personally don’t notice the band on them at all when I’m running.
r/XXRunning • Shockz OpenFit earbuds? ->I have the original OpenFit and wear them with sunglasses any time I run outside. Never had any problems with it. Wouldn't wear them in the gym tho, I've got noise cancelling earbuds for that.
r/running • Official Q&A for Sunday, November 23, 2025 ->I have both the Opendots and Openfit (1 not 2), and I like the sound signature of the Opendots a little better, although I think Openfit is a slight bit more full. Since I don’t have the Openfit2, I can’t say for sure, but I would guess it sounds pretty darn close to the Opendots. In my opinion, the choice between those two doesn’t come down to sound quality (they’re both great), but rather fit and style. Opendots don’t interfere with my glasses at all, so that gives them an edge. I’ve found the Opendots easier to wear for longer periods of time. Either way, you win!
r/Earbuds • Shokz Opendots One. ->It’s about the same thickness, but considerably smaller, maybe a bit more than half the size of the OpenFit case. It’s also much more rounded, so it fits in a pocket much easier.
r/Earbuds • Shokz Opendots One. ->Aftershokz give me a headache pretty quickly and I can't hear much anyway.
r/bikecommuting • Are open-ear earbuds the way to go for bike commuting? ->I used aftershokz. That became shokz. Def work, worn for hundreds of hours sweating in all conditions. No drama or issues
r/running • What earbuds do you use while running? ->I have both and like both, I find the open fit irritate my ears after awhile due to the way they sit on them. The open fit definitely sound better though.
r/ultrarunning • Good earbuds for Trail Running? ->I got the open fit. I chose based on reviews on YouTube. Music is loud enough on my runs. I wore them for a half marathon and they stayed on fine and I don't feel them at all. The battery lasted through the whole half and had plenty of battery to spare. I can still wear a hat. When I am running outside I can hear when someone is approaching or if a vehicle is near. I love them and think they are stylish and cute. I got the pink ones and they match my ear skin tone. Downside: it's not as immersive as an experience as in bud ear phones. If I go at a busy time at the gym I can barely hear my music over the machines making the treadmill even harder.
r/XXRunning • Shockz OpenFit earbuds? ->I use the Shokz Open Fit, the ones that are separate open ear buds, the sound is much better than the open run models that are bone conduction. They still won’t be as good of sound quality or as loud as in ear earbuds they aren’t terrible either.
r/runna • Earbuds - Beats Fit Pro broke and now considering AirPod Pro 2 ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
