Ergobaby - Metro+ Compact City Stroller

We brought the Ergo Baby Metro Plus. It is an our daily stroller- but also folds up to fit in the overhead cabin on a plane (very compact!). It is slim, and can lay down completely flat when the child is inside for naps if needed. It’s a pricier stroller- but we have had it for 2 years now and it’s been a breeze! On the boat itself, we only used it when waiting in line for character meet & greets, we carried her, or she walked the other times when she was 18 months when we went on the Fantasy for a week. It fit under the bed with no issue when we weren’t using it!

We like our ergobaby metro + It fits in the airplane overhead compartments, has a nice sunshade, and it fully reclines if baby falls asleep in it.

If you’re considering the UPPAbaby Minu V3, definitely check out the Ergobaby Metro+ 3. They’re very similar, but the Metro+ 3 is $350 compared to $550 for the Minu. You can usually find a 15% off coupon with a quick Google search, and Ergobaby offers 20% off for teachers, nurses, and military. I was torn between the two, but after watching a million reviews, I realized the Minu V3 didn’t offer anything the Metro+ 3 didn’t—at least not anything that justified the extra $200. I’ve taken the Metro+ 3 out a few times and it pushes great—smooth and easy to steer one-handed. The basket holds over 20 lbs, the seat sits very upright (a must for my baby), and it also fully reclines for newborns. The ventilation is better than on the Minu, which was a top priority for me since we live in a warm climate. It has a one-handed auto-fold (huge win!), and while the unfold isn’t quite as smooth, I’ve still managed it one-handed. I also got the bumper bar since my baby loves holding onto those. One of my favorite features: it fits behind the driver’s seat of my Prius! That was a big deal because our main stroller—the Cybex Gazelle—takes up the entire trunk. Before this, I had the Cybex Libelle (open-box from goodbuybaby.com). It was fine—super compact and came with a car seat adapter—but I didn’t love that it didn’t sit upright and had no peekaboo window. I wouldn’t have paid $300 for it, but I got it for $150 and sold it for $100 after one trip when my baby was 5 months old. Now that my baby is using the stroller seat more, I wanted something more comfortable and better quality—and the Metro+ 3 has totally delivered.

I’d go for the Ergobaby metro, you can carry it on with lots of airlines so don’t have to worry about rough handling

We have the ErgoBaby Metro Plus and love it. We got it as a travel pram for my eldest when he was 10months to go to Rome, but used it as the main stroller exclusively after he was 1 as our bugaboo fox was just too bulky. The metro lightweight but sturdy, steers brilliantly with suspension (which a lot of travel strollers don’t have) and has extendable handle. As a tall person, this is the best bit. It also has lie flat, again something other big name travel strollers don’t have, which for my son was important as he napped in it all the time. We are now using it for my daughter and have done since she was a newborn. Negatives is that it’s probably a little bigger than others and I never trusted that it would fit in the overhead storage of a plane so have always gate checked it. Basket is small but in line with others on the market. I would definitely buy it again if I needed to, but I would be tempted to try the bugaboo butterfly also.

Ergobaby metro

Third the metro+. It is my in the car stroller as well as my travel stroller. It is not flimsy and sturdy for its size. The trifold helps with that I think, rather than folding umbrellas style. I just took it to Mexico and it was fine on the dirt/gravel roads. Before I got it, I remember reading review that it handled cobblestones well enough. It does have some suspension. I’ll be taking it to Ireland in the spring to test out!

The Metro+ goes down flat and is newborn safe. I have it and really like it. The uppababy minu is another good option and could maybe use the same adaptors as your vista?

I have an Ergobaby Metro+ that I love as well. It is my travel stroller, but it would be totally good enough as my main stroller. I keep it in the car for on the go as well.

You aren’t going to get a travel friendly jogging stroller. I would just baby wear for hikes while travelling. For a car seat friendly travel stroller, I would recommend the ergobaby metro 3. It is newborn friendly even without the car seat as it has a bassinet mode. You would have to get a car seat that works with the adaptors. I have the older version (Metro+) and love it. It’s been on 5 plane trips, with two out of country. We just came back from Ireland this week and it was great.

I can fit an adult size day backpack full of stuff underneath mine.

The ergobaby metro+ is a great travel stroller! It goes flat, so it’s safe from birth. Folds up small - they claim carry on sized. I’ve taken it on 4 plane trips, but always gate checked it. The sunshade is big and the adjustable height handle is nice. I just came back from Mexico (not at a resort) and it can handle rough road pretty well.

Yeah, I’ve taken mine to Ireland, Mexico, and a number of trips in Canada. Been great every time!

The metro+ isn’t one hand fold/unfold. That’s really the only thing irritating about it.

Get ergobaby metro plus or similar and you have a daily driver and travel stroller in one. I’ve heard good things about bugaboo butterfly or uppababy minu. Unless you’re planning to use the under basket storage a lot (e.g. you are a one car family and will use it to walk and go grocery shopping, etc) then a travel stroller would probably suit you just fine. A lot of ppl don’t realize this I don’t think. P.s. the honest truth is that a lot of people will recommend expensive baby products not because they are actually great (although many are) but because they have to justify the cost to themselves. I see this a lot with car seats- people love to recommend expensive seats when more affordable ones fit better in their car, are less likely to be outgrown and are easier to install.

I have a Cruz with two winter babies (November and December). I will say it’s not the best for all snow- but can handle about 6 inches of snow max. Luckily I wasn’t forced to go out in these conditions too much with my baby. With my second there were instances I had to walk the older one to daycare in heavy snow with the baby and I just baby wore the younger one. The jolly jumper carrier cover is amazing for covering the carrier and can also be used on the stroller. If you go with the uppababy cruz o would recommend getting the heavy rain shield. It’s very robust and protects the fabric in rough conditions. I think eventually you will probably want a travel stroller for trips and as a backup. It also affords more trunk space (think driving to a weekend getaway with a few big bags). I have an ergobaby metro plus which I also love for this purpose and it fits in the overhead bin nicely.

I have the OG ergo baby and recently went to Montreal with it and found cobblestone streets kind of tough. It’s doable but not enjoyable for the baby. I did my best to avoid it (they have strips of concrete that make it easier in spots). No experience with the mompush but I think even a full size stroller like an uppababy cruz would struggle a bit. FWIW the ergobaby is An amazing travel stroller! If you are thinking about a second it’s great you can buy a travel board for it. It folds up small and is great to bring around. Love love it

Ergobaby metro has been great for us. We have used it on several trips- planes and trains, Europe, Vancouver, Montreal, Halifax, Florida, Mexico… it’s now out daily driver. Has a ride along board you can purchase which is GREAT for airports with two kids under 5. I don’t know what I’ll do when my oldest grows out of it, it’s so handy!

I have the ergobaby metro+ and it fits in the overhead bin! It's been great and has become our daily stroller but I need two hands to open and close it - if that goes into your decision making. My sister has the bugaboo butterfly that she travels everywhere with. It fits in the overhead bin as well and she has been using that for her daily stroller for years. She loves it. I did not look at the GB pockit because I wanted something that I knew I could push one handed and I wasn't sure it'd be possible with the way their handles were set up.

I think it'd be light enough but you'd need a very large backpack to fit it. I think ergobaby makes one specifically for it that could be good? When it folds, there is a strap on the seat that serves as a handle to easily carry it around.

We have the ergo baby metro plus and love it! It lays flat so you can start using it from birth without the car seat! But you can get an adapter if you want the car seat too.
