Ergobaby - Metro 3 Compact Stroller

Yep, I use the Metro 3 as my primary stroller and I love it for my 3 month old. You can set it and fold it in any position. It is also pretty light for when you need to carry it around. I do agree that my son looks pretty small in the seat but he has fit the harness fine since birth and loves being in it.

I live in Montreal and have the Metro 3 for my 6 month old since birth. It isn't the best with bumps and I find that it is very easy to accidentally slam it into even the smallest curb edge. That said, I absolutely love that stroller. It folds down to nothing and I can easily store it in my coat closet of a tiny apartment. My son also loves bumps so the minimal shocks is a non issue for us. One con - I'm not sure if this is normal for other strollers but the basket gets soaked when it is raining, even with their rain shield. There is also the Metro 3 deluxe that was released after I bought mine. I wish I had it. Other than including some accessories, the main differences are a magnetic buckle and a carry strap. I really wish I had the strap since I live near a metro stop without an elevator and the idea of being able to toss it on my shoulder and free up a hand sounds amazing. I haven't been able to test it out in the snow yet but I don't expect it to do well beyond an inch or so, but I think that can be said for the majority of travel strollers. For accessories: I love the rain shield and bumper bar. I fold the rain shield into a packing cube and throw it into the basket whenever it looks a little grey outside. The bumper bar is great for attaching toys. My son is also small enough to use it as a footrest lol. I have the snack tray and bug net too but haven't used them yet. The backpack is also nice for when we are out and choose to swap to baby carrying. It is easier for my partner to throw it on his back and have both hands while I carry the baby.

If you’re considering the UPPAbaby Minu V3, definitely check out the Ergobaby Metro+ 3. They’re very similar, but the Metro+ 3 is $350 compared to $550 for the Minu. You can usually find a 15% off coupon with a quick Google search, and Ergobaby offers 20% off for teachers, nurses, and military. I was torn between the two, but after watching a million reviews, I realized the Minu V3 didn’t offer anything the Metro+ 3 didn’t—at least not anything that justified the extra $200. I’ve taken the Metro+ 3 out a few times and it pushes great—smooth and easy to steer one-handed. The basket holds over 20 lbs, the seat sits very upright (a must for my baby), and it also fully reclines for newborns. The ventilation is better than on the Minu, which was a top priority for me since we live in a warm climate. It has a one-handed auto-fold (huge win!), and while the unfold isn’t quite as smooth, I’ve still managed it one-handed. I also got the bumper bar since my baby loves holding onto those. One of my favorite features: it fits behind the driver’s seat of my Prius! That was a big deal because our main stroller—the Cybex Gazelle—takes up the entire trunk. Before this, I had the Cybex Libelle (open-box from goodbuybaby.com). It was fine—super compact and came with a car seat adapter—but I didn’t love that it didn’t sit upright and had no peekaboo window. I wouldn’t have paid $300 for it, but I got it for $150 and sold it for $100 after one trip when my baby was 5 months old. Now that my baby is using the stroller seat more, I wanted something more comfortable and better quality—and the Metro+ 3 has totally delivered.

We have the Uppababy vista v2 and absolutely love it! I will say though, while it is amazing for walks and longer excursions, it’s definitely not a put in the car because you’re going shopping kind of stroller, it’s big, bulky and heavy. I have a RAV4 and it takes up half my trunk lol We purchased a Ergobaby Metro3 (I think?) to keep in the car for short outings like that since it’s compact and a one hand fold and close!

I’d go for the Ergobaby metro, you can carry it on with lots of airlines so don’t have to worry about rough handling

You aren’t going to get a travel friendly jogging stroller. I would just baby wear for hikes while travelling. For a car seat friendly travel stroller, I would recommend the ergobaby metro 3. It is newborn friendly even without the car seat as it has a bassinet mode. You would have to get a car seat that works with the adaptors. I have the older version (Metro+) and love it. It’s been on 5 plane trips, with two out of country. We just came back from Ireland this week and it was great.

Good with winter weather and easy to travel are going to be hard to find. The vista does everything but is bulky and I wouldn’t travel with it. I know people who have though. The ergobaby metro 3 is a great travel size stroller. It would probably manage a little bit of snow on the ground, but not snow drifts. It doesn’t have a detachable bassinet, but the seat does go all the way flat and the footrest flips up to create a bassinet. It is car seat compatible, but double check which ones. I would also look into babywearing, because not all babies nap nicely in the bassinet, haha (mine didn’t at 4 months).

The ergobaby metro is a great travel stroller!

Yeah, I’ve taken mine to Ireland, Mexico, and a number of trips in Canada. Been great every time!

I love my Ergobaby Metro and it can be used from newborn.

I have the OG ergo baby and recently went to Montreal with it and found cobblestone streets kind of tough. It’s doable but not enjoyable for the baby. I did my best to avoid it (they have strips of concrete that make it easier in spots). No experience with the mompush but I think even a full size stroller like an uppababy cruz would struggle a bit. FWIW the ergobaby is An amazing travel stroller! If you are thinking about a second it’s great you can buy a travel board for it. It folds up small and is great to bring around. Love love it

Ergobaby metro has been great for us. We have used it on several trips- planes and trains, Europe, Vancouver, Montreal, Halifax, Florida, Mexico… it’s now out daily driver. Has a ride along board you can purchase which is GREAT for airports with two kids under 5. I don’t know what I’ll do when my oldest grows out of it, it’s so handy!

I second the ergobaby metro. I have the metro 3 and though I haven’t flown with it yet it folds down so small. I bought the carrying case for it and we’ll be taking it on our first flight with him in a few weeks. It’s also comfy for him and has good size storage underneath. My only want is a snack tray to hold his drink and snacks

Same! We have an ergo city metro and it’s amazing.
