Dreame - X50 Ultra

Dreamme X50. Thank me later. Our L20 sort of survived for a while with the special dog hair brush but the X50 gets 0 hair clogged.

Smart thermostat for sure, after that my “high end” robot vacuum dreame x50 ultra. Had a basic Roborock s5 Max before but it was bad at mopping and got stuck so often. The Dreame delivers big times. I some smart lights but they are not in the top tier list.

I’ve been running the Roborock S7 Ultra MaxV, plumbed in. It finally sorta gave up on life a few weeks back. I’ve just replaced it with a Dreame X50 Master, it is also fully plumbed in. I only have to empty the dust bin every now and then. Makes life so much easier, especially with dogs in this horrid weather.

Hi all, can somebody explain to me why does Vacuum Wars have so many Robots, with big issues, high on the list? I had a bad experience with the Dreame X50 that was number one on there list and now have my focus on the current number one (X9) but read so many complaints.

I am often surprised, and offended at how much difference there is in premium robots (which is what I tend to test, rather than budget or midrange). You should expect, if you pay that much, for a robot to work. This problem is much worse in lawnbots, but there is no condition under which I would purchase a Roomba or Eufy on purpose. Doesn't matter what model. I'm most impressed by Roborock, Dreame and Ecovacs. That said, each model is different. For instance, I thought the X40 was just fine. Didn't blow me out of the water. But I think the X50 is quite good, although it still has some navigation issues. I haven't tested the Monsga line, sorry.

I just tested and reviewed this one and gave it 3 out of 5 Stars. I was very unimpressed. Although I'm not done with my testing of the z70, it is not ready for prime time. The x50 was good, And I think that would be a fine purchase. I also highly recommend the saros 10r and 10. But... I was alone out of the water with the 3i S10 and no one talks about it.

Good question. I was testing the Dreame X50 and it was getting stuck on a particular chair, for no real good reason. It happened on day one and day two. On day three, it approached the chair differently, and on day four, it managed to get around the chair entirely. According to Dreame, this was an example of the AI in action, learning, rather than mere navigation. The ability to navigate a space over and over again is a good way to test the AI. Is it subjective? Sure. But that's my entire point- there's room for subjectivity in how we review these bots, not just objectivity.

without having tested the L50 U, your assessment nails my testing. I think people aren't giving these lifting chasses enough credit (though y'all didn't like the X50 and I thought it did well in testing). Saros weren't as big a leap forward from the s8/Qrevo as I wanted, but when they're on sale, I think they hold value.

It doesn't just wrap around the rollers, it also gets wrapped around the sweeps and the wheels, and while it doesn't hurt the robot, it will make it less effective, and require you to clean it more often. This isn't a problem with short haired pets (they have a different problem). Yes, having high suction is important, but it doesn't always translate to getting more debris up. In the case of long hair, nothing beats a razor cutter on the robot, and the only line that has one that I recommend is the Eureka J15 line. Short hair sticks to the floor, it climbs the walls, and you need a sweep that will effectively get it off the ground and move it toward the roller, where the vacuum can capture it. The sweep plays a critical role here, and the sweeps that are most effective are large, in constant contact w the ground, and move in opposite directions. Eufy e25/e28 have the right design for this, but I don't recommend them for other reasons. The models that I've found that do this best are the 3i G10, P10 and S10. I love these models for other reasons, but those sweeps seal the deal for me on short hair. It's just a bonus that they are also the only models that can suck up cat litter without clogging. Rugs have to be well anchored to the ground (a grip pad isn't going to cut it forever), and the lower the profile, the better. Think Ruggables. If a rug starts to roll up on an end, the robot is going to have trouble. If a rug has fringe, its a bad match for a robot. Even bathroom rugs are rough for robots. In fact, most robots aren't great at the "edges" of rooms, they're mostly good at the main open area of a room. You have to let this go. A lot of robots have these now, and they're one of the best features. # Best Robot if You're Hellbent on a Roller Mop Everyone in this Reddit forum is convinced rollers are the end all/be all of mops. I disagree. They're fine. But if you're just absolutely determined to get one, get the Flow. Eufy's e25/e28 models were riddled with errors, and Dreame's roller mop leaks and streaks. I want it to do the damn job, with as little required of me as possible. Otherwise, I might as well do the job myself. While most robots do help, they also require upkeep and new, consistent input. Change the water, change the filter, unclog it, find it where it got stuck on a cord, etc. And then, I tried the 3i S10, which i had zero expectations of, because I'd never heard of the brand. This is the robot to get if you're overwhelmed and just want the job done. It vacuums EVERYTHING without clogging. Does it silently. It mops well, and both makes its own water and sanitizes the water it recycles so you never have to change the water. It's got downsides: its effing HUGE and heavy. It looks like an exhibit at a science museum. Its expensive, and some people say it smells musty (it makes water via a dehumidifier, so that makes sense). But readers, I would marry mine. Hey. Because you're all hard floor and you named some specific features, I thought I'd talk through this with you. So, Pa is important, sure, but I'm testing robots with absurdly high Pa (over 20k) that miss a lot of debris, and then there's the Switchbot K10+ which has almost no Pa and gets most stuff up. I believe, strongly, that Pa matters less than people think (and marketing people at big brands agree, they keep upping Pa because consumers name it as their main decision making factor). What matters is the design and location of the sweeps in relation to the roller. I say all this because on hard floors, you see ALL the cat hair and litter... so that design is even more important. Navigating around toys: easy. Everyone does it well. Cords? No one does it well. Debris management: 3 months in between changing the bag isn't a big deal. I had the Dreame x50 and returned it. It seems like with Dreame you can get a great robot or a lemon in the same model. Mine had issues getting on the base. The carpet vacuuming was not great and the battery was awful. For the price it just didn’t meet my expectations. During the Amazon spring sale I got the L40 and I’m happy with it for $500. It’s not perfect but overall does well in my house. I have carpet, tile, dogs, cats, and kids.

There are cleaning solutions designed for hardwood floors you can use in the robot vacuum. I've been really happy with my Dreame X50 so far, even with 2 dogs and 4 kids!

Not true. I have a Dreame X50 and even though Matter was advertised, they haven’t implemented (yet). Almost a year already waiting for the Matter update. Besides, the Matter controls are very limited. Like ON/OFF, start main cleaning. You’d still need the app for fine configurations and mapping.

I've had my Dreame X50 Ultra since May and it's the best purchase of my life. Works fantastic. I never worry about dirty floors.
