If that's a meaco you can 3d print an adapter and add a second hose to make it more effective https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNdH85QtD/
r/CasualUK • Why didn’t anyone tell me how compact and effective these portable air conditioners are? Why was I suffering through the last heat wave 💀 ->Those Meaco units are great! I bought the 10000BTU unit to cool the house as we have a baby, the baby doesn't like it for some reason and prefers to sleep without it. My win though as our bedroom was a cool 19°c when downstairs was 28°c. I think A/C will be pretty standard in the UK in 5/10 years time.
r/CasualUK • Why didn’t anyone tell me how compact and effective these portable air conditioners are? Why was I suffering through the last heat wave 💀 ->I have a Meaco one that's pretty good. It came with two different window kits, so hopefully one of them will work.
r/AskUK • Can someone please help me find a portable air con that works? I have Cancer and the room in my nursing home is unbearably hot. ->I have one, got it from costco its on the louder side but in terms of everything else cant fault it cools my room down nicely. Did end up buying a longer exhaust hose as the one provided is on the short side.
r/AirConditioners • Meaco MeacoCool10,000 CH Portable Air Conditioner ->I've got a Meaco dehumidifier and now a Meaco AC, my Meaco collection is growing. Is that the stream deck buttons next to your keyboard? Can you provide a link to that digital time thingy you have on your desk.
r/CasualUK • Why didn’t anyone tell me how compact and effective these portable air conditioners are? Why was I suffering through the last heat wave 💀 ->Yes! Got a meacocool or something like that. Essential for the hot summers we have now. And essential for me. I work in a 2x3m hand build (and very well insulated) garden office. Once the ambient temperature is high, I'm sweating in there. It's bliss with it on. Bring it into the back bedroom some nights too. It's a good send. It's noisy though. Sleeping with it on isn't the easiest
r/CasualUK • who here owns a portable air conditioning unit, are they worth the money? ->I bought a meaco 10K BTU one last year which triggered the coldest wettest summer for ages 😂 Luckily I fooled the weather by getting one that could heat as well as cool. I put some insulation over the exhaust hose to reduce the radiant heat from that, and cobbled together a window board that slots into an open casement window, and seals pretty well. The hose attaches to a 150mm ducting 'wall kit' from toolstation which in turn is vented out through the board. The unit itself does not get hot, other than the hose. And yes single hose is less efficient than dual, but that's all we can get here so... shrug.
r/DIYUK • Anyone here using small AC machines to cool the air in a small room for heatwaves? Looking for recommendations, preferably Amazon i.e. can get it quickly. TIA ->My Meaco costs about £1.5 a day (it runs 15 minutes per hour from 7am to 10pm), and considering we have maybe 10 proper heatwave days per month, and only 3 months of summer where these heatwaves can happen, that's totally worth it.
r/CasualUK • Why didn’t anyone tell me how compact and effective these portable air conditioners are? Why was I suffering through the last heat wave 💀 ->I run mine 15 minutes per hour from 7am to 10pm. Then outside temperatures tend to drop below inside temperatures. You don't have to have it on literally all day for it to work. I think I've paid maybe £10 so far this summer to not feel the heatwaves at all.
r/CasualUK • Why didn’t anyone tell me how compact and effective these portable air conditioners are? Why was I suffering through the last heat wave 💀 ->I bought one of these about 4 years ago. A mecco one. It was really noisy and a pain to get the hose out of the room. It didn't really work that well. You could only really feel the coolness directly in the breeze which was very blowy and had no option to make it gentler. No I have I stalled proper air con with an outside unit and the inside units attached to the wall. But I can't get it in all the rooms in the house. They are 100 times better than the portable one I bought 4 years ago. You can barely hear it and it's freezing cold in the winter and warms up a room really fast in the summer. Have portable ones gotten better and quieter? Id still be interested in buying one to fill the gap in the house i have.
