I was in a similar hunt to yours till recently. I just bought the Valerion Vision master Pro 2 bundle on Amazon for $2699 (w/mount, 3d glasses, hdmi cable). Picture quality is great and I’m just projecting on a white wall now! Watch the hook up guys YouTube video on it for a detailed review

I have a 135" woven acoustic from silver ticket for my visionmaster pro2 and love it. Picture still looks great with ambient light.

Yeah with any projector a lot of ambient light will reduce the contrast but it doesnt completely wash it out.

In my opinion theyre very good. Especially if you have dark walls or curtains you can pull to avoid light reflection. If you really care that much about super deep blacks an oled might be your best bet. With good light control and dark walls projectors are awesome but they arent going to be as dark as an OLED.

They are excellent, there is no real competition in terms of quality/price ratio except maybe the Nebula X1. However they are not perfect: they’re subject to speckle and RBE. You’ll need a matte white screen  for the speckle. If you want to avoid RBE there is only Epson, all DLP projectors have it.

I would recommend watching some YouTube videos by TheHookup. Generally in the price range you’re looking at it’s hard to beat the Valerion, but if you go that route you need to be aware of screen material because non fresnel ALR screens result in laser speckle. https://youtu.be/F6mFV7XQC3o?si=Ohb3F—GpyDk8jOW

I was trying to decide the same thing. Ended up going with the Valerion VisionPro2 as it had great reviews and checked all the boxes. No regrets so far!

Using the Valerion Pro for the last 10 months and its amazing. Everything is so crisp. When I'm watching TV or sports (not movies), I don’t even turn off the room lights. For the best experience - like a home theater - I dim the lights only when watching movies. This is my first big projector, so I can’t comment on the others you mentioned, but if you go with the Valerion, you won’t be disappointed!

Definitely would consider throw distance. I recently got the Valerion pro 2. Upgraded from a benqtk700sti and it's really good. Very bright great contrast and its softer on the wallet. You can find deals for it on eBay

The main advantage of a projector is size. You can get a 135" diagonal from a projector, which no TV that's affordable can possibly deliver. At 100" diagonal, TVs are the way to go most of the time. If your space supports it, just get a decent TV. Models like the Valerion Pro are solid enough and give good viewing, but they will suffer, as all projectors do, in any type of ambient light. I'm working with someone who will end up doing a 135" setup for his theater specific space, but will also have a couple of 100" displays in the rest of his basement for viewing in different areas.

The Valerion Pro Master will give you deeper blacks esp in Dolby Vision espwith their Enhanced Black Level switch . Ceiling projection ? Not sure about that however . Also the JMGO N1S Ultimate for searing brights and color volume . Triple Laser and the fastest Keystone and Focus Adjustments available . An eye popping projector pleaser if there was one .
