Respectfully, I purchased the C2 and returned it due to a large amount of laser speckle and DLP rainbow effect. I'm in the market for a replacement but will most likely avoid laser projectors going forward.

I've had a similar Epson Beamer, but the noise it produces isn't suitable for us so we went for Hisense C2 instead - 2000 Lumen and 4k quality.

You can get a Hisense C2 or the Nexigo Trivision Ultra and go with a traditional long throw setup. Placement of the projector needs to be pretty exacting. Then use a standard fixed frame screen in white or grey and call it done. Add a sound system and it's all together for under $3,000. $2,000 if you are careful in your shopping.

You will need to consider audio in the room as projectors don't do audio really well. Many lifestyle laser projectors don't have any optical zoom, which will limit your size/placement options. For example, the Nexigo Trivision Ultra has a fixed 1.27:1 lens. For a 92" diagonal, the lens much be 8.5 feet from the screen. [https://www.projectorcentral.com/NexiGo-TriVision\_Ultra-projection-calculator-pro.htm](https://www.projectorcentral.com/NexiGo-TriVision_Ultra-projection-calculator-pro.htm) The Hisense C2 has a .9-1.5:1 optical zoom lens. This gives you a ton more flexibility in placement so you can get a 92" screen or a 100" screen or even a 110" screen from the back of the room using optical zoom. [https://www.projectorcentral.com/Hisense-C2\_Ultra-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc](https://www.projectorcentral.com/Hisense-C2_Ultra-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc) The lens of these projectors needs to be aligned to the top edge of the screen. These models do have HDMI-ARC to backfeed audio to a sound bar or surround sound receiver. But, speakers need to be fully thought out prior to getting too much finished.

I tried the Valerion Plus 2 and found it too dim. I then tried the Hisense C2 Ultra and found it just right for my 120 inch screen.

I know you’re on a budget but I would try and get an open box C2 ultra. It’s significantly better than those.

Having said this though and seeing my friends c2 ultra in person. It looks incredible. And I would have guessed true 4k if I hadn’t read about it. Picture quality is nuts.

I mean sure but I got an open box C2 ultra for 2400$ CAD open box. And the pro2 is 4300$ I do think the Pro 2 is slightly better (but they are damn close on the whole) but that’s not worth 2000$ for me

I’ve been playing Cyberpunk 2077 on a Hisense C2 ultra on a 135” screen mostly at night and it’s pretty fucking amazing. Plus I have a paradigm 5.1 speaker setup with an AVR. It blows my mind every-time I start playing. I also play RL on it and honestly it’s not bad. I don’t really notice the input lag.

You wanna go new tech? Go tri-laser or laser phosphor. Hisense c2 ultra or Valerion vision pro 2 or Epson Laser phosphor LS12000. You won't regret it especially for gaming. Recently I finish Clair Obscur Expedition 33 on my Hisense c2 and was absolutly cinema.

Feel free to join us at /r/HisenseC2Projector The C2 ultra is pretty good overall, picture is nice and bright. Native contrast is not great but that's it's main downfall. I am currently experiencing light bleed with mine, which Hisense says is normal, so if you decide on the ultra be sure to get a warranty through the retailer

Just get nexigo ap mk2 with alr screen. Other ust to consider such as epson ls650, formovie theatre 2, xiaomi c2, hisense pl1. They all have low or no rbe / speckle issues. Valerion dimming ebl doesn't activate with subtitles, no iris and have speckle issues.

Hisense C2 Ultra and upcoming C3 are both cheaper options. The preliminary reviews for C3 said it has a similar EBL function. I don’t see Hisense pricing C3 at $ 2999.
