Razer - Naga V2 HyperSpeed

You will not get the best of both worlds depending on what you want from the productivity side. Does your workflow require or utilize more buttons? Do you care about weight when youre playing games? If the answer is yes, you should just get two cheaper seperate mice. Im sure people will give you good gaming specific reccomendations so I wont get into them. I use a lot of keybinds for productivity to accelerate my workflow, and thats only possible with mice that have more than two side buttons, I've found a few that sort of work for both gaming and productivity: - The G502x is a good balance, but its as heavy as a brick which is fine for some games but I find uncomfortable for FPS. - Lightweight MMO mice like the Steelseries Aerox 9 are great if you need the buttons, and its lightweight but its not suitable for a claw grip let alone a fingertip grip. - The razer Naga has variants with swappable side buttons and depending on your hand they may be suitable grip wise, but id sooner drink paint than recommend them with their issues and they are not worth the cost. I can keep listing reccomendations, but you'll find drawbacks and negatives that will significantly degrade your end experience trying to have a one mice fits all solution, you will constantly be trading away things and in my opinion - no options exist that I can say is worth $150 in value. 2x $75 mice will get you very far, especially in todays markets where Chinese mice are on par if not better than mainstream options in many instances. Ive settled on the G502x for work. The side buttons and the index finger buttons are very useful, but more importantly the scroll wheel has a button to switch to a free spinning wheel, and has side tilt buttons - those two things alone make it extremely useful if you utilize them.

Wife and I both use a naga I’ve got fairly large hands she’s got tiny hands and she’s had zero issues. The problem is trying to find the naga at a good price and I heard the newer versions break quick. Ours are several years old so hoping they continue chugging along.

As a many-years MMORPG player (Lineage2, Mu Online, WoW), cRPG fan and owner of G700 and G602 (and now Roccat Kone XP as g700 replacement) i never understood this love for Razer's Naga (which i had for a brief moment) and its children. Four buttons is max which thumb can use effectively (fast and without any thinking about function or its placement). You add more and you loose the benefits because of poor mnemonics and (later) egonomics (cant reach all of them effectively). Its like typing with pointing finger only - you can be fast and quite effective but never as fast and without looking at keyboard as when you use all fingers. So 4 for thumb, 3 for pointing finger (including LMB), 2 for middle (including RMB) and two small are for grip - thats the most reasonable setup for a mouse. If you want more buttons just use keypads with WASD on a stick -> Razer Tartarus, Hori TAC, so you don't have to use 3 fingers for movement (just 1) and can use them on other functions. I own two PZ31a's since 2007, a year ago i bought Hori TAC PS5 and recently i even created my own such device with RP2040 Zero - 1 joystick + 25 keys + 4 buttons as pedals and its more than enough for most of games (even STALKER GAMMA which is most key-demanding game ive played recently). Its still in prototype phase (some changes have to be made) but it already works perfectly. Way better than trying to cramp all keys on a mouse which is a device not designed for that.

As much as I dislike Razer, the Naga V2 Hyperspeed has been an acceptable G600 replacement. Doesn't have a ring finger button, but the two additional buttons next to the index finger more than make up for it. Also much better switches on the thumb cluster, geared/gearless scroll switch, and I found myself liking wireless more than wired at this point. Just have a spare battery nearby for a quick swap when needed, and it takes NiMH rechargeables.

I don't remember how long it took me to get used to using a 12 button side panel on mice, as I think I started with the G600 over a decade ago. It was definitely more intuitive to learn than a keyboard based layout, as I could arrange all my class and utility skills on the mouse in a straight sequence that made more mental sense rather than them being scattered over the keyboard. But one thing is for sure - once I got used to it, I couldn't really play well without such a mouse feature anymore. For all my dislike of razer, I do like their naga v2 hyperspeed, and that's what I'm using now. Though be aware that (like most mice) they have a problem with switches eventually failing, especially middle click, and replacement costs are more than compared to a generic mouse, unless you know how to solder.

For me, I've been using the Razer Naga with the 12 button side for more than a decade. It takes a while to get used to, no lie. But I picked one button and mapped it to one action (a spell) and got used to that one button. Then I expanded as quickly as I felt comfortable. I wouldn't play without it now.

Make sure it’s actually dead. I had the same issue and I was about to toss my naga but my friend told me he had the same issue and it was one of the razer drivers and it works, no more double clicks.
