I’ve got the mini 3 pro. Happy with it. One other difference between the mini 3 pro and mini 4 pro is the 4 returns full HD 1080 back to the RC unit while the mini 3 pro returns low res images back to the RC unit.

I bought the mini 3 pro, no regrets. Been flying it for 3 years now and it’s still just fantastic in 4K 60 fps. I think the Pro version gives you the right amount of features for safety and awareness in flight.

I flew my first Mini 3 pro into the lake. I believe it’s still worth it to get the mini 4 pro.

Mirror calm surface, super clear water, the sensors looking down looked right past the surface.

Without the sensors “seeing” the surface, the warning height information at the bottom of the screen is not shown, and the surface is disorienting to look at also.

100% my fault, and an expensive lesson learned.

I started with the mini 3 pro, and still fly it. It’s been just great! Mini 4 pro might be the only option anymore, but the design is the same. I bought a total of 6 of the regular batteries which has been great also. Just get the 3 at a time charger from DJI, it saves tons of time.

If you want collision-avoidance sensors the Mini4 Pro or Mini3 Pro are best in the sub-250g realm. Otherwise the Mini4k is a great value. Before 2025 tariffs went into effect, they could be found at around $250. I paid $430 for my Mini2 4 years ago. Essentially the same drone. I love my Mini2 (not the SE). I have taken it to Europe and UK 3 times now.

Since the Mini 3 Pro. Just hoping for proper D-Log. Until then using HLG on most DJI cameras since it can also be color managed properly.

I expect it to trickle down to the Air series first. Reason why I prefer the Mini Pro series: I can fly it basically everywhere.

DJI anything is more or less the answer. They have their quirks, but everything else comes with less support and more caveats. If you’re just starting out, a Mini is perfect.

I already have the 1-inch sensor on my Air 2S, but I end up using the Mini 3 Pro more — it’s discreet and attracts less Karens than the louder Air 2S. The upgraded sensor alone sells me.

''nausea and vertigo from VR headsets.'' me to i get heavy sick from PC vr headsets!! but with the Avata I DONT. That was also something i was scarred about, but i tried it and i wont get sick from that headset. I also have a mini 3 pro ! they are great! and camera wise extremly good!! Easy to use to! You just need to watch out when flying sideways (you can crash into things), otherwise its very easy. I would not recommend the NEO. So if you ask me is the mini 3 a good deal? yeah it is! Like i said i got the pro version. But i THINK the pro version comes only with some more sensors (for following, tracking and obstacle avoidance). But you have to check that one out if the camera is the same. The NEO has worse camera though! I got the controller were you need to use the phone. That works great, but if you can i would suggest go with the inscreen build one. Sorry for my bad english though :)!

Would be great if the flip had the omnidirectional sensors. I am waiting for a ''sports'' drone of the dji, A neo/flip that can actually follow you. I have a mini 3 pro and a avata 2 but, i am looking for a drone that can be used whitout a controller like the neo or flip but also can follow you! And i mean, it does needs to read the surroundering.

If you want accurate maps, you need the Mavic 3 enterprise with it's mechanical shutter. For basic mapping for fun, you can go as low as a Mini 3 pro, but the rolling shutter will reduce accuracy and resolution. I work with the Mavic 3 Enterprise with RTK at work, and does incredibly accurate and detailed maps, but really no better than my old personal Phantom 4 Pro I have at home. With RTK and GCP's you can get accuracy within a cm or two. I'm trying trying to get our non-profit to get a Matrice 350 RTK with all the goodies to increase functionality as the Mavic 3E is great for maps, but not much else.

If you find a mini 2 to start with it's a nice drone, I started with it and now I've moved on to the mini 3 pro.
