DJI - Avata 2

As most others have said the Neo 2 is a more VERSATILE drone for a beginner... Here's why - you mentioned you want a drone for casual and general use, that's the neo 2 - it's first and foremost a traditional drone with a gimbal and flight stabilization , that's Avata series is not it's an fpv drone . - it has good tracking which is awesome especially for capturing action sports - pair it with a rc and you now have basically a pretty functional classic cinematic DJI drone. The biggest difference is Avata is really more about getting that FPv (flying inside) experience which is certainly fun, but not very cinematic since it's more About adding specific shots like (chase scenes , cliff dives, low flying ridge shots) , most creators that have avata also have other DJI drones, and use Avata for special scenes.. So if your on a family vacation it's like 30s to pull out your neo 2 , get in the air take an orbit or selfie photo of your group ,all done , you would likely still be booting up Avata and it's Fpv goggles... Avata is like having a sports car, lots of fun on the weekends in a twisty road, but Neo2 is like having a daily driver way more practical for most use cases.

Hey guys, I have an Avata 2 and I'm planning to purchase an Air 3s. I'd like to step into the Real Estate media world to make some profit from what I like most. My question is can I use the Goggles 3 with Air 3s? I know the A3 is compatible but can't find useful info about A3s. If it compatible with what controller? Thanks a bunch.

That price is completely ridiculous. But it’s a super fun drone with some great capabilities.

Custom freestyle quad with AvionRC IKON 2.5 frame and DJI air unit O4 Pro. So much fun in such a small package and easy enough to repair when crashed. My second drone is an Avata 2. That one is also great fun for smoot cinematic flight with the head tracking and the motion controller.

Avata is the easiest way, I do these often they definitely take some practice to make them look good.

I would reccomend the Avata 2 than! BUT Check some youtube vids first!! because the Avata 2 is not really beginner friendly, but than again... its way more fun and ALOT more fun to watch movies from you created with it... But yeah first, watch some youtube clips about The avata 2, or the other drones like mini 4 pro. You cant go wrong with a mini 4 pro though !

''nausea and vertigo from VR headsets.'' me to i get heavy sick from PC vr headsets!! but with the Avata I DONT. That was also something i was scarred about, but i tried it and i wont get sick from that headset. I also have a mini 3 pro ! they are great! and camera wise extremly good!! Easy to use to! You just need to watch out when flying sideways (you can crash into things), otherwise its very easy. I would not recommend the NEO. So if you ask me is the mini 3 a good deal? yeah it is! Like i said i got the pro version. But i THINK the pro version comes only with some more sensors (for following, tracking and obstacle avoidance). But you have to check that one out if the camera is the same. The NEO has worse camera though! I got the controller were you need to use the phone. That works great, but if you can i would suggest go with the inscreen build one. Sorry for my bad english though :)!

Yeah i see you all good. You can always go for the mini 3, because it wont dissapoint you! And later on you can always go deeper into the drone world, and maybe try out even some avata 2 :P ! Take care though!! and watch some youtube videos otherwise still :) !

No i own now a mini 3 pro, an avata 2 and i did own other ones. But not an flip.

I have this and a neo both in a small bag that also holds the motion control, FPV control and goggles as well as a 3 battery charger for both. It's so incredibly compact it's wonderful compared to my earlier drones. And not needing a phone at all and being able to share the controls across both drones is amazing.

For the outside shots, you want Drone with a mechanical shutter at this point that’s the Mavic 3M or matrice enterprise. The matrice is higher res and has much more sophisticated software to facilitate 2D and 3-D mapping and flyovers and such for the interior shots you’re gonna wanna lean towards possibly a flip or avata 2 which will give you great maneuverability inside and still work well without needing GPS which you will not have under the roof of the house

I agree with u/Own_Shine_5855; you need to tell us what you want to do in this hobby. If you want to fly a DJI Avata 2, then go for it. If you want to fly FPV freestyle, like many of the cool YouTube vids show, you will frequently crash. The time spent fixing crashes will dwarf the time doing the initial build , so if building once is prohibitively unpleasant, then it is likely that you'll find the hobby unpleasant since there will be a large amount of crashing. So tell us what has you interested in the hobby, and we can give you better advice about drones that will work for you, or if you just need to bite the bullet and gain some drone building skills. If the latter (e.g. you like the freestyle vids), don't despair; there are some great kits out there and excellent video tutorials that will walk you through every step.
