I ordered the IQAir MultiGas, it’s been running all day, still have a crazy headache and sore throat. Feel like death. How are we going to live like this??
r/LosAngeles • What air purifiers are you using that’s helping during fires? W. no ozone and BPAs? ->Ah crud, bought another MutliGas too. Both have been running all day, one in the living room, one in the bedroom. Headache and sore throat gone at home, but comes on when I’m outside for 10 mins.
r/LosAngeles • What air purifiers are you using that’s helping during fires? W. no ozone and BPAs? ->If money is out of the question. IQ Air Multigas.
r/AirPurifiers • What is the best air purifier I can buy for vape smoke? ->I can clearly tell when my IQAIRs are running, I sleep so much better. You might already have good air quality Fixing your furnace filter and central filtration will make a bigger difference than buying an air purifier
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed Reddit data for the 20 most recommended air purifiers (in the past year) ->I keep my IQAir on medium 24/7 and kick it up to the highest setting after housework or during weather advisories (smoke, wind, high particulate, etc). When I lived in the house I was exposed to toxic mold—after I found out about it, of course—I had several (different brand) purifiers on the highest setting 24/7, and though they looked like hell after switching out the filters about once a month, did an extremely good job with professional AQI tests in the interim before the landlord let me out of the lease.
r/ToxicMoldExposure • Do you keep your air purifier running? ->No idea about Merv 16 since I just buy what they have so I don’t have to think about anything, lol, but I use and travel with their car filter—bringing it into hotel rooms and letting it filter in different areas before going inside. Not sure how well it filters all the air in the room, but it’s a relatively small space, so I’m willing to take the chance since otherwise there would be no filtration. I am thinking about buying one of their large round models for the same reason since it would be easier to store at the side of the car instead of a bulky IQAir and would know the filtration would be on point. We actually have two IQAirs: one upstairs and one downstairs. The lower level is far larger than the second level, but they both seem to do a good job, especially on the highest setting (it does an incredible job filtering after-dinner “food smells” from the kitchen, too!).
r/ToxicMoldExposure • Do you keep your air purifier running? ->I invested in an [IQ air](https://www.iqair.com/us/products/air-purifiers/gc-multigas). It’s pricey and a beast of a machine but I live next to the freeway so it feels necessary.
r/AskLosAngeles • Air Purifier for Apt in LA? ->I have Austins and IQAir MuliGas. The Austins were recommended by a clinic which treats individuals with extreme chemical sensitivities. You want a unit where the fan feeds the filters (1st in the chain) to avoid contamination from the fan itself. No filter is going to eliminate all VOCs.
r/AirPurifiers • What is best air filter/purifier to reduce VOCs / endocrine disrupters? ->I have a couple of models: Immunity Machine, Healthmate Plus, bedroom machine. There have been some reviews stating that Austins are slower at clearing a room of particulates. My main concern is VOCs and since I run 3-4 filters in each room that isn't a concern for me. Am now testing the immunity machine. Seems to do a much better job with VOCs, although final results will take a while. What is your concern with IQAair?
r/AirPurifiers • What is best air filter/purifier to reduce VOCs / endocrine disrupters? ->I run 3 filters, Austin and IQAIR, in each of 2 spaces - one 300 square feet the other 600 square feet. If the air is poor outside my Purple Air sensors will still show green. However there are so many chemicals in wildfire smoke, particularly if structures have burned, that they don't get everything. I am sensitive to terpenes and right now they don't help with the Camphor tree flowers. So they can greatly improve air quality but don't expect all VOCs to be removed from the air.
r/AirPurifiers • Purifiers making no difference to VOCs ->I use Austin Immunity machine and iQair GC Multigas units as VOCs are a major concern for me. Not rated.
r/AirPurifiers • What Coway purifiers should I get? ->To get rid of VOCs you need a lot of absorbent substrate, 10 pounds or more. IQAir GC multigas works, other vendors include airpura, allerair, austin.
r/AirPurifiers • best air purifier for second and third hand smoke? ->For VOC removal the generally recommended manufacturers are Airpura, Allerair, Austin, IQAir all of which have filters with 10 or more pounds of carbon. The AirDoctor 1000 has a relatively small Carbon filter which would have to be replaced more frequently than the others. This is reflected in the cost of the replacement filters which run \~$72 where replacements for the others run in the 100's. Doubt that it is as effective due to its small size. I use Austin and IQAir GC Multigas units. Just replaced the Austin filters with Immunity machine filters and saw significant improvement, but at the cost of \~$700 per filter. They are supposed to last 5 years. If you have to replace before that they reduce the cost. Consumer Reports (subscription required) has extensive discussions about air filters and reviews for filters without Carbon.
r/AirPurifiers • Help choosing 3 air purifiers for home with allergies/mold sensitivities + 2 dogs (living room, master, kids room) ->Consumer Reports rates it a 53, at low speed 2/5 and 4/5 at high speed. Their top rated large room filter is the Coway Airmega ProX with a rating of 85. You will need one unit in each separate room. I run 3 of their GC MultiGas units, 1-2 per room.
r/AirPurifiers • Is this overkill to buy for a small appartment? ->Yeah, this is mine as well. 10 year warranty, Swiss made. It’s the only place my family can be when the allergies get really bad.
r/BuyItForLife • The REAL best air purifier - I HATE DUST! ->Wow, I didn’t know!! Thank you for explaining that. Costco had a good deal for shark air purifier and I was considering it. I have one IQ Air but their customer service hasn’t been great and the machine is really bulky, old fashioned with a hefty price tag. I was attracted to cheaper options but I’d get what I paid for it sounds like.
r/AirPurifiers • Should I not get a Levoit? ->I use mine mostly during wildfire season. Works better than any other units I tried in the past. Got mine directly from IQAir.
r/AirPurifiers • Is this overkill to buy for a small appartment? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
